A New Family Member!

Everyone, this is Peter David Washburn. Isn't he cute? I've yet to become acquainted with him in person, but I'm already especially fond of him. For one, he has one great mommy! My sister Sarah and her husband Jeremiah had their first baby on Monday Jan. 19. 7lbs 5 oz. Hooray for more babies. I love being a aunt!

What a Silly Girl

My niece is almost a year old now and her cute little personality is really showing through. She is pretty shy, but she definitely has a silly side just like her old man!

This month, you not only get a bonus! Me! That's right, I am featuring myself, since I am so terrible at starting a website of any kind here are a few images of pieces I have been recently working on.

I have been making quilts and weavings made out of drawings done on silk tissue paper. The drawings are all of mental maps of the house I grew up in. The work is about remembering place, attachment to place, and my body's experience in space and place in general. I hope you enjoy!
