Getting Closer!

We are getting closer to meeting this little mystery baby! Here I am 36 weeks pregnant, and well, I think now my belly looks exactly like it did last time. So does that mean its another boy? Hmm.... Only time will tell. What is your prediction? I'd love to hear what you think it is, how big you think it will be and any great names you have. We are still undecided on that one. Well and since my mom is the only person who comments on the blog I guess I'm talking to you mom!!! I'm predicting a boy, born on his due date , July 24th (again) weighing in at 8 lbs 10 oz. Clint is predicting girl to be born on July 15th. Its getting exciting!

My Funny Man

This boy is so darn funny. I wanted to document a few of the amusing things he has said or done lately so I don't forget about them.

Clint was saying a prayer before work the other day. Thomas always repeats whatever we say and then interjects his own elements as well. Clint prayed for energy for his long shift, Thomas repeated. Clint prayed for mama to have energy to take care of Thomas, Thomas repeated. Then he interjected, "Bless Thomas to have energy" We both had a good chuckle and agreed Thomas DOES NOT need additional energy.

Thomas calls nail clippers "nail boppers" He came across a picture of a bald eagle's talons in a book and said, "Needs big nail boppers!"

After his afternoon nap one day (Which are now a thing of the past) He woke up a little groggy and said, "Mama, Thomas needs a cookie." I know the feeling!

Clint got home from work a bit early one day and decided to go on a little jog. He usually takes Thomas in the jogging stroller so we can both get a little break.  Thomas got so excited, he went and got his "shorty shorts" as he calls them, put them on and went to the living room to do some stretches. Then the headed out the door and I watched as Clint tried to negotiated with Thomas to get in the jogger. Thomas had thought he was going to get to go jogging himself, not ride in the stroller. And he refused! So they compromised and ran laps around the back yard instead. I was really impressed with Clint's patience, and They both ended up having a good time.

One day, my visiting teachers were coming over, so I was trying to do some extra picking up of the house. Usually our house just looks like a tornado hit. As I went to clean up Thomas' pile of toys he said, "No Mama! That's MY big mess!"

One sunday during the passing of the sacrament Thomas noticed the lady behind us bite her fingernail. He exclaimed very loudly, "EWWW! Yucky! No Fingers in the mouth!" It was rather embarrassing! Luckily the gal was a good friend and had a good sense of humor about it.

What a funny little boy! He picked this flower, bent it in half and called it a crane! Only a little boy would think of that!

Thomas has transformed the nursing pillow into his snack caddy! I had to hide that away so that when the baby comes he won't try to steal it.

I have this little tripod that Thomas calls his "Robot" He likes to change its diaper!

Thomas likes to invite his trucks to meal time.
 Sharing his chocolate milk!
We went to a little farm near by and Thomas met this white horse named Maude. All day long afterwards Thomas kept saying, "Thank you white horse Maude! Goodbye Maude!"
For FHE last week we decided to play hide and seek. We both got a good chuckle out of Thomas' hiding place...
He thought he was so silly putting on his Papa's shorts!
This boy does not get tired of reading about construction equipment. It is funny because a large portion of these books end in the trucks building a playground.  Now when we see real construction equipment Thomas says, "Trucks building a playground!"

Strawberries!

Can I just say one of my favorite things is going to farms and picking fresh fruit? It is just so much fun
And the fruit tastes divine.  As you can see from this little boy's red stained face, he agrees with me.

Of course he is always in awe of a real live tractor.
Three little vampires with red little faces!

Lake Michigan

We took a little road trip as our last vacation of a family of 3.  We drove up to Detroit the first night and went to Thomas' first MLB game.  Detroit was the half-way point to the lake, so we figured it would be a good way to break up the drive a little.  Thomas loved looking out our hotel window at all the cars and trucks and things that go.  Thomas did really pretty well in the car. He was happy to see all the big-rigs and construction equipment, etc.  You'd think after 3 hours of big-rigs, they would lose their appeal, but no. "Mama! Look! Big-Rig! Mama! Look! Blue Big-Rig! A red one! Mama, a car transporter! Two car transporters!" This is how our first car ride went.
The game was a night game, and it had a rain delay, so it didn't start until 8:20, but Thomas is a little party animal and didn't mind staying up. While he is still a little too young to pay attention to the game, he loved having french fries for dinner, clapping and singing and all the rest of the excitement that goes along with the great all-american past time.

Yes that little blur is my son, Tornado Thomas.
Thomas and papa enjoying some overpriced ice cream. Thomas would share with mama and papa, but his idea of sharing was to allow us each a few very small bites.
When we got back to the hotel, it was almost 11:00, but Thomas was bouncing off the wall and said, "Mama, watch TV!" um...no Thomas! So we turned off the lights and he went right to sleep.
The next day we drove up to the lake.  There were less big-rigs so the drive seemed a bit longer......But we were happy to see this cute little lake house waiting for us.
We stayed in a little town right on the lake near some sand dunes. This little boy could have spent the entire trip just playing with his dump trucks and diggers in the never ending sandbox.
One day, we decided to take a little row boat out on the lake. Doesn't Thomas look excited to go out on the boat? He actually was....but maybe he shouldn't have been! It turned out to be a little bit less than fun because of the wind and an oar breaking we got stuck out on the lake for what seemed to be hours....It was more like one hour.
Here are the 2 1/2 of us at the light house. Thomas LOVED the light house. We went back 3 times because he kept asking to. It was fun and beautiful though so we didn't mind.
The little boy and his papa on the beach.  It was a bit windy, so we didn't stay too terribly long, but had a nice time.
 The water was cold!
 So sweet
This little boy wants to do whatever his papa does.  The two of them had a lot of fun fishing together. Thomas is still a bit too young to really grasp the concept, but he sure liked carrying around his fishy pole. When we got it he talked about it for days, he even told our neighbor he got a fishy pole.
My two favorite people catching some fish.
I just didn't get tired of seeing this little cutie carrying around his fishy pole.
We caught one!!!!! Well actually Clint caught several, but they were all pretty small and I wasn't brave enough to eat them so they got a second lease on life and swam away.
This was the biggest one!

The little boy spent a good chunk of our trip taking loads of rocks to the lake....

And dumping them! Its like the fun of throwing single rocks into the lake multiplied by infinity! I can say that Thomas changed the landscape of Lake Michigan more than the average vacationer...
We loved our night time walks at the beach. It was less windy in the evening, so we could enjoy walking around a little more.
We had a great trip together.  I just love spending time with these two boys. They are both so happy and easy going. I am one lucky girl!
