Happy Easter!

Thomas had so much fun with his first easter egg hunt. We hid some eggs in the front yard and let Thomas loose. (And by hid, I mean scattered eggs in plain site aross the lawn)
Thomas knew exactly what to do. He did not need any instruction whatsoever
This is so fun!!!!!
More eggs that-a-way!

Our second annual bread bunny! We had such a lovely Easter, and had so much fun with our little boy. He just makes everything a little better. Well, a lot better actually!

And for some more Thomasisms:

Thomas has recently discovered a love for cheese! He takes after his mama. The other night we had the Parmesan cheese out and Thomas kept pointed at it, so Clint put a little bit on his tray. Thomas dipped his little mouth into the pile and got this little cheesy mustach
Thomas is just such a happy little guy! He is at such a fun stage right now. He is learning a lot and is pretty proud of his "tricks". He waves to everyone, points at everything and makes a lot of playful conversation. He says "Oh-oh!" all the time and he also makes a little piggie noise which he learned from Clint. Its pretty cute. He climbs up on top of the coffee table, stands up and claps for himself too. Its funny, because I had been trying to teach Thomas how to clap for months and then one day Clint tries once and ever since Thomas has been a happy little clapper. He really likes to show off his skills, especially around the ladies, or namely my friend Jen. He is such a little charmer. Hope you all had a happy Easter!

Mr. Tom Goes to Washington

Thomas, Clint and I took our first big family vacation this week to Washington DC! We packed up the car and drove to our destination. Thomas was a little unsure of the long car ride, but really he did pretty good!

The little boy liked the big city! He was very curious about all the hustle and bustle. He loved the crowds of people, the cars and trucks and especially the subway! We could have spent the entire trip riding escalators and subways and Thomas would have been pretty happy. But he enjoyed seeing the sites as well. This was the first time we had taken Thomas on a vacation where we stayed in a hotel. It was an interesting experience. Thomas LOVED the hotel. The first night he just knew he was in for a party. He wouldn't sleep in his crib and stayed up watching TV with a big grin on his face.

There is a lot to see in DC! We were able to see quite a bit, but there is so much more that we would have like to have seen. We loved seeing all the monuments and museums.

And Thomas loved exploring and playing and getting into things!

Don't let this picture fool you. We sadly missed the famous cherry blossoms. There was only one single tree left in bloom at the tidal basin. There were tons of people around it taking pictures! At least we got to see one tree! It was quite lovely. I can only imagine the site it must have been to see the entire basin in bloom.

Thomas had a splash at the botanical gardens!

Luckily, we got to see the blooms at Arlington National Cemetery. It was beautiful!

Some of Thomas's favorite museums. He loved seeing the cars, truck and planes! He just pointed and squealed and was having a great time.

The last day of our trip we went to Mt Vernon. We loved it! And as much as Thomas loved the big city we went nuts at Mt Vernon. He loved getting out and exploring the pastoral landscape. I'm pretty sure Thomas thought he owned that place. He did NOT want us to guide him or carry him anywhere. He wanted to be free! And that is what George would want for Thomas, I think :)
"Mom! Let me down! I have a lot to explore and not a lot of time to do it!!!!!!!!"

Little Boy sees the DC Temple
"Follow me Dad! This way!" We can't fool ourselves, Thomas is in charge here!

We had a fun trip, and these pics only scratch the surface of the things we saw and did. It was a fun trip and mostly lovely to spend time together as a little family.
