Another Edition of Thomasisms

So Thomas had a little cough.  Thomas says he had a frog in his throat. Clint asked him what the frog was named and he said, "Sam Stevens" I have no idea where he got that one!
Another one- Thomas was eating a Popsicle and it was dripping off his chin. I kept wiping it off. He said, "mama what does a chin do?" I told him I didn't really know. He said, "maybe it catches Popsicles." so there you have it, now you know the primary function of a chin

Thomas does not like Santa. He flat up dislikes him. He is terrified by him.  He has been saying for several months, out of the blue, " Santa CANNOT come into our house!" "He's never coming here AGAIN!" "Tell Santa to leave the presents in the mailbox."  We even went to the library where Thomas first encountered Santa when he was about 20 months old and He remembered the exact room that Santa was in and said something to the effect of, "I don't want to go in that room! I don't want to see Santa!" That was a year and a half ago! He wasn't even 2 and he remembers this! A few nights ago I was awoken at 2:30 am to petrified screaming coming from Thomas' room. He was having a nightmare and talking in his sleep, "MAMA! MAMA! Santa's Coming! Santa's Coming!"

We have a elderly neighbor that lives across the street from us. Her name is Ursula and she is a swiss immigrant who is 93 years old.  She has a very thick accent and she is quite frail. Thomas really likes her, but he is also a little scared of her.  We went to visit her one time and she tried to give Thomas a hug. He scurried to the corner and said, "You can't grab me! That makes me sick!" Luckily she is a little hard of hearing :)
It is funny when we go over to Ursula's house, Thomas picks up certain social behaviors from me, like complimenting her on things in her home.  One time we went over and he said, " These are really beautiful magnets you have on your fridge" Ha ha! they were the kind of magnets you get fro free as pizza advertisement etc.

Thomas is very protective of Caroline when she goes to the "baby doctor" One time I took her for shots and Thomas FREAKED out. He ran around the room like a crazy animal.  The next appointment, I made sure she wasn't getting any shots. But when the nurse took her, Thomas said, "Be careful with Caroline, she's our sweet little girl." Aw!

Thomas calls the missionaries "Nursery-Rhymies"

Thomas was playing with some cups and I said, "Please be careful with those Thomas." He replied, "Don't worry mom, they are made of glass."

I served Thomas some noodles for dinner one night. Much to my surprise he said, "Oh! Noodles! I love noodles!" I said, "Thats good Thomas!" He responded, "But they do not love me." And pushed the plate away.
Little Man has been falling asleep reading his books a lot lately.
Hmm…IS that Thomas? Nope that one is clint. See the resemblance?

I wonder who that one is?

My mom got Thomas this spaceman suit for Halloween, but he REFUSED to wear it! Until one day last week ( over 6 months after Halloween) He just decided to try it out. "I really like my spaceman suit" he said. Silly man!

Is She Really 9 Months Old?

This precious little lady is now 9 months old. Sigh. Where has the time gone? Baby Caroline is a treasure, an absolute joy. She makes everything happy, calm and peaceful. She is just so sweet. I really adore her. She had her 9 month appointment and is now over 20 lbs, in the 80% percentile. She is so cute and squishy I love it. When we were at the doctors, Thomas said to the nurse, "Be careful with Caroline, she is our sweet little girl!" Aw! And she is!
My little living doll. Oh how much fun it is to have a daughter. I never knew how much fun little boys could be ( It exceeded any possible idea I had…) But I always knew little girls would be so fun, and this one? Well look at her! One cute little thing about Miss C is that she loves to look at the pictures on the wall, especially the family pictures. She gets this cute little grunty giggle when we take her around to look at them. It is so adorable!
Caroline has started waving, and clapping. She even does a cute little sitting dance. She also has become more and more vocal. She babbles and screeches. Especially in her high chair. She loves sweet potatoes and graham crackers, but she will eat most anything so far.  She is making progress with her crawling. She is almost there! Yesterday she made it across the room…very slowly! But she's getting there. It is so cute.

Look at that cute toothy grin! She has 4! two on the bottom, and the top 2 side teeth, just like Thomas. 2 Little vampires :)
Look how happy she is when she wakes up. Love her!
She is so happy to stand up!
My 3 favorite people. Caroline loves her papa and her Thomas.
The little sweetheart loves the library too.
I love seeing her standing up in her crib when I go get her when she wakes up. She looks so grown up!

Spring Time Fun

Well the weather has finally warmed up, the ground has thawed and the flowers and trees have begun to bloom. We have all felt the sunshine lift our spirits and have been trying to sneak away any chance we get to enjoy the beautiful Spring in Ohio. The past few months (and the next few months to come) have been a whirlwind. Between looking for houses, and trying to get ready for our big move to Utah we have been very busy. I just want to hit the pause button on life so we can savor our time here in Ohio.  Thomas made this little birdhouse at the Lowe's build and grow workshop. Jumpy Squirell has moved in!
When the weather warmed up, Clint shaved his beard. He let us take a quick pic of his Papa Allred mustache. Thomas was amused.
Thomas was also amused when the utility workers came and put in a new power pole in our yard. This kept him entertained for 2 hours. It was awesome. That big window is better than a big screen TV I tell you!
Upper Arlington's high school team made it to the high school state championship game. Clint got really into it.  He took Thomas to the last game and the little man zonked out.

Sadly it was a real heartbreaker, and the Golden Bears lost the game in a last minute nail bitter. Thomas still will say out of the blue, "I'm really sad about the Golden Bears Mama." Clint does too.

Taking advantage of a sunny day and hitting up the Metro Parks. We've just about seen them all now! We have loved exploring the Metro Parks here in Columbus.
 The lady loves it too!
 And Thomas loves exploring!
We took a little overnight trip to Cincinnati with the kids to get away. It was a lot of fun. Thomas had a grand time at the zoo.
 Isn't that a sweet face?
Here is Caroline in the King bed at the hotel. She was a pretty happy lady. Of course it was a late night trying to get these kiddos to go to sleep that night. Little party animals.
We took advantage of the hotel pool and went swimming. It was so much fun! I think it was my favorite part of the trip. The little man loved it. The lady was pretty nervous. She stayed really close to mama and held on REALLY tightly.
Clint surprised me with a birthday party in the hotel room, complete with balloons, cake and ice cream. I don't know who like it more, me or Thomas. I think me. :) What a sweet husband I have.
The Mr. Man at the Cincinnati aquarium. This was the only pic from day 2 of our trip, mostly because we spent the day either chasing around Thomas or trying to get him to keep up with us. This boy has 2 speeds: turbo fast and snail slow. He had some emotional moments, but overall the trip was still a lot of fun. we went to a park and then to a Cincinnati Red's baseball game. Maybe our last MLB game for a little while. What a fun trip!

Easter

Look who we saw on Easter morning! Yep, he was caught right after the drop off. Thomas was pretty excited about this.

Our first time coloring eggs. Thomas was very particular about how he wanted things done. Clint was got pretty into it as well.
2 happy babies looking at their loot.
 One pretty little easter dress.
 A very competitive egg hunt.
And a big basket full of candy. What could be better! Oh add perfect weather and you have yourself a lovely easter holiday. I just love easter.
