The Winter Blahs

This has been quite the winter. We have been going a little bit crazy being cooped up in the house with all the snow and cold weather. We have gotten over twice the average snowfall this year, or so I've been told. All I know is that it has not been pretty. We have had to get creative to keep entertained in the house this winter. Thomas' favorite game: Store. He can play it ALL DAY! Not kidding. One day I really think I played store with him for five hours.
I was happy when Lincoln came over to relieve me of my shift for a bit. :)
Sometimes its just nice to chill at home with your friends.
Caroline's sleep pattern has changed in the past month. I think due to her new skill of rolling over coupled with teething, she wakes up more frequently. So sometimes around 5 or 6 she joins us in the big bed. This bed is feeling awfully small these mornings! But very cosy.
The lady has started eating solids. She is doing pretty well. Much better than her brother. It is not nearly as traumatic for me.
It might be traumatic for her at times, though.
This silly boy! This is balloon Clint getting fed by the rascal. He can take it better than the lady.
WE have built some nice houses inside this winter.
My two cuties playing inside their house. Caroline thinks thomas is so silly. Mom, doesn't she look a lot like me in this picture?
The master of the house.
This is thomas saying, Come on Mom! Please play outside with me!
Sometimes being cooped up is a recipe for disaster and mischief. The boy wasn't very happy getting those band aids pulled out of his hair.
I bought these construction jammies a few months ago for thomas and they were tiny! So one night Clint put Caroline in them. Thomas LOVED That! He kept saying, "Tawowine has 'struction jammies?"

Silly Papa

This girl has too many trucks :)
Nothing like curling up with my cuties and reading a good book. But can we please get some sunshine now???

Party! Party! Party!

Thomas had his birthday party last weekend. It was so much fun! I think the little boy really enjoyed it. Thomas wanted a dinosaur birthday party with a dinosaur hunt. Here is our yummy food
 Some silly decorations I made.
The watermelon t-rex was a big hit!
 Caroline is quite the charmer.
Here are some friends, Grace and Lincoln hunting for dinosaurs.

Thomas got really into the hunt.
 Showing off their loot.
Singing to the birthday boy. Thomas loved all the attention. It was fun to have a little celebration for  the man.
Some fun presents! Thomas doesn't get sick of trucks.
More cake please!

My Mr. Thomas Turns Three

This picture makes me happy. This boy makes me happy. He is such a fun, spirited, rambunctious, curious, sweet and tender boy. I love him more than it is possible to express. I am so happy to be his mom. Its hard to believe this little rascal is three years old. Never has one person had such an impact on me, after all, he did make me a mother! I learn so much from Thomas' sweet and loving soul. From his funny wit and sense of humor. From his determination and creativity. He has so much potential.  It is a wonder to witness this boy growing and learning. I won't lie, its not always easy. He definitely can push my buttons. But I love him profoundly. And Luckily, he still loves me in spite of my imperfections as a mother. One morning when he woke up he said, "Mama, you are my favorite girl in the whole world." Thomas, for you I want the world. I see so much light and promise in your eyes. You can be a great source of good for those around you. You are a leader, people will love to follow you and your bright, happy spirit. Have patience with your mother, I am learning just as you are. Every night I pray to be the mother Heavenly Father wants for you. Some days I fail, but I try and I truly value your precious spirit. You are a tiny darling boy with a great big purpose in this life, I can feel it.  Happy Birthday my darling, beautiful boy.
He has grown and changed so much. But he has always had that little twinkle in his eye!

Sucha good brother. He is so sweet to Caroline. These two are just so fun to watch interact. I love it.

This is Thomas and his best friend Lincoln. I could write an entire blog about their little friendship. It has been such a gift for both Thomas and me. They have been friends since Thomas was a tiny baby. I still remember the first time I took Thomas visiting teaching with me when he was no more than 3 months old and Lincoln crawled up to him and Thomas couldn't stop laughing. They have so much fun together.

A few funny Thomasisms:

Thomas has started referring to the dishwasher as the "washer Bomba-Boom"

Thomas watches a lot of British cartoons. For some reason he tends to like british humor is guess. As a result he is picking up some cute little phrases and vocabulary. He says things like, "I'm really cross right now" "lets go on a holiday!" And recently he started saying, "Great Fires of London!"

Thomas' favorite color is blue. Or should I say his favourite colour is blue?

He is still the pickiest eater I have ever met. He basically survives off of graham crackers, fruit and yogurt. I wish I was joking or exaggerating. Oh and cookies! He could eat an unlimited supply of those.

His favorite show is Peppa Pig. He calls himself Peppa, me Mommy Pig, clint Daddy Pig and Caroline George pig.

One day I was eating some hummus. Thomas said, " What is that mommy?" I said, "Its Hummus, you want some?" he said, "You are eating THOMAS? I'm not a food!"

One winter day, after being cooped up with two cranky kids I said out loud to myself, "I'm going nuts!" Thomas said, "Yes mama! Lets go there! Lets go to nuts!"

One day while playing with house with Thomas he said, "Here is my beautiful house (pointing to his room) And this is my beautiful picture (pointing to the drawing I made him for christmas)"

Thomas likes to say, "When I was a baby next week…I cried and cried." or "When I was a baby next week I lived in mommy's belly." etc. It is so funny

I was removing a dust jacket from one of his books and he asked me what it was. I told him it was a jacket. He said, " Put the jacket back on mommy! Its cold!"
