A good looking couple if I may say so myself

I have been a little bit reluctant to post these pictures, so I have to preface by saying NO we are not engaged... but while we both had Christmas break we wanted to take advantage of our rare time off with no obligations and get our pictures taken by one of the worlds finest photographers! My good friend Jennifer Mayne Bertoch. As you can tell she did an excellent job and we are glad we got them taken ( even if it is a little out of order of things seeing as we are not engaged :) )

Contemporary Art Fix-Decemeber!

This months artist I chose trying to be festive for the winter season. Andy Goldsworthy. He is a very interesting artist who uses nature to create his art. Here are a selection of his works that he made out of only snow, ice and his bare hands. Its really beautiful I think. I showed my drawing students a video of his work and so many of them could no comprehend spending so much time creating something that would be destroyed shortly after its completion, but that is part of the concept behind the work, it has a cycle, a life and death.
So next time you are out in the snow, try making one of these :)

Japanese Potluck

A little while ago ( okay it has been a few weeks, but I am terrible at uploading picture on my camera...) I decided to throw a party. Now I seldom throw parties, but for some reason I felt like it. This party was a ton of fun! We decided to watch the Karate Kid on the projector and have an asian potluck. I made sushi! It was delicious and really fun to make! If anyone wants a fun date idea, make sushi! it was a hit and was actually pretty easy.

The biggest success of the party was watching the Karate Kid. I think it had been several years since most people had seen the movie, and lets just say it is a classic. Clint can't stop singing songs from the film. I think He wants to be Daniel son. If you haven't seen it lately, watch it! Its hilarious!

Thanksgiving!

This post is a few weeks late, but I am a terrible blogger, so my apologies. This year for Thanksgiving, Clint and I went to my Dad's new place in Houston. It was a lot of fun, neither of us had ever been to Texas before and we enjoyed the beautiful weather. Otherwise, Texas just didn't do it for me. Very blah. But we had a great time with the family and did some fun things. We went to the aquarium, the zoo and to NASA. It was fun for that side of my family to meet Clint. And it was also our first trip together. It was a nice and much needed break from our crazy lives in Ohio. Especially for him, he never gets breaks!


Thanksgiving: So we spent much of our Thanksgiving at the duck pond. We went there for baby Ethan and then stayed there forever for my Dad. He found this little baby duck and had the hardest time letting him go. This big duck is named Pierre. He is french.


NASA!

Clint likes to read every sign at any museum so we got left behind by my family. We had a great time and learned a lot. Well I didn't because I don't read signs, but he did! Isn't he cheesy posing with the astronauts?
