Happy Birthday Tom!

Happy Birthday to the sweetest little guy around! Little Thomas turned one year old on friday! It has been a pretty crazy month. Thomas had pink eye, and ear infection a cold and a stomach flu in the space of about three weeks, so it has been non stop laundry and cuddling around here. He finally started feeling better, and was in good spirits for his birthday, but we still decided to wait a few days to have cake and ice cream. So it made for a full weekend of birthday celebrating!

Thomas liked the cake! But he was very cautious and careful about his dissection of the cake.

Here is Thomas's birthday cake. I am no cake decorator by any means. I didn't get my sisters talent. But the little guy likes it and that is all that matters!

The biggest hit! A Noah's ark from Grandpa and Grandma Mackay. He has had one or two of those little animals in his hands at all times since he opened the present. We have to do a careful inspection at the end of the day to make sure all the animals are accounted for, because Thomas also likes putting these animals in the recycling bin.

On Saturday we took the little boy to the aquarium. He loved it. Such a cutie. We had such a fun time celebrating with our little darling. He is just so much fun. He is a real fun loving and adventurous guy and he make life so much better.

Thomas's favorite activity as of late: playing in the dishwasher. I indulged him on his birthday and let him play for like 30 minutes. He was in heaven!

Looking back on the last year just floods me with so many emotions. Its hard to believe it had already been a full year since Thomas came to us. It seems like only yesterday, yet it also seems he has been in our family forever, and sometimes it seems crazy to think I was ever even pregnant, and that this little life grew inside of me. I am so grateful to be his mother. He is my best little buddy and I am so lucky to get to spend my time with such a fun and carefree little boy. I have a lot to learn from him! Sometimes I think about how much joy an innocence these little children have, and it make me long to be like that. If only I could preserve that in Thomas! I will do my best to show him that life can be a beautiful and wonderful experience, and that even through the hard times, there is joy found in the moments. Anyway! Happy Birthday Thomas!
