More Images from Exhibit

So, a little background. For this project I wanted my drawing to serve as a type of documentation of what was going on in the gallery duirn the 72 hours we spent installing the show. I would draw objects, ideas, conversations or anything that transpired during that time. When Derek joined up with me the idea was to see how different people filter the same experience differently, and how the same idea can be expressed with a different visual symbol. For the large drawing we would both simultaneously draw the same thing such as a chair, a power cord or a conversation and it was interesting to see how differently we represented the same idea.

This image is a detail from my individual drawing the first day: Here is our crazy collaboration.

Chicago!!!

This last weekend I flew out to meet my friend Alma in Chicago. He had a business conference there and it was the perfect excuse to get aways from Columbus and see one of the most amazing cities in the world. I think Chicago might be one of my favorites. And New York! And London! And Seattle! And Boston! and Rome! Oh and Paris!!! What can I say? I am a city girl. It was really great because during the days Alma (who yes we are JUST FRIENDS) was in meetings that meant I could do whatever I wanted by myself!!! Which is my ideal way to spend a vacation. There is not much that I love as much as being alone in a big city walking down new streets and taking in all the beautiful architecture and sites. So fun!!! Of course most of my time was spent at the art museums. We also went to Millennium Park, Taste of Chicago Food Festival, Navy Pier and the musical Wicked, which was really good.

This picture is really funny, because we went to Alma's nephew's performing group, Clayton Productions, and I knew Nicole and Tasha would LOVE this!!! I was so embarrassed.
