I Know you're all shocked: I'm ENGAGED!

I say this in jest, because most of you have heard my exciting news by now and the rest of you saw it coming. But yes, last Sat. night we became official! I am joining the ranks of couples from here on out! Its crazy, as I have always identified myself as a single person, but it is exciting and fun too. Clint is the greatest guy I've ever known and I am very thankful for him. I really do look up to him a lot! Lets just say I am marrying up.

The story goes like this:
So a while ago, we picked out a ring. When I found out it was going to take 12 weeks, I was really bummed! I wanted to just let everyone know we were engaged, and make it really official! There is something about a ring that makes people take you more serious! So anyway, after a while I had finally reconciled with the idea that I wouldn't have a ring until April, and I put it out of my mind.

But last weekend Clint was acting very strange. He called me on saturday just to check up on me and I asked him what he was doing and he just said, "Oh just stuff" Lets just say he is a terrible liar and I sniffed mischief right away. Later that evening he sent me a text message that said, " I feel like wearing a tie tonight." Okay, honestly, how often do guys just feel like wearing ties? So I sent my sister and my roomate a text saying, I think I'm getting engaged tonight!

I got all dressed up and we went to dinner at our favorite restaurant, Anna's (for those of you who don't know, Anna is my first name and Clint often calls me that) I kept waiting for him to pop the question, but to no avail. After dinner, Clint said something like, "Well, what do you want to do now? I don't really have anything planned. Want to go to the dollar Movie?" I was thinking, "What? The Dollar movie? I am all dressed up! All this for nothing?!" But I shrugged it off and said, "Well I guess so." I was about to text my sister and tell her that I was all wrong! So we drove to my apartment to check listing times for the movie and when I opened the door I saw candles and roses and heard music playing in the background. And of course I noticed to bowls of my favorite treat in the world, Jeni's ice cream! How sweet! So he dropped on his knee and popped the question! Of course I said yes ( I mean who could turn down ice cream and a diamond :)) The ring is a temporary setting with my real diamond in it. So when the real one comes in they will switch the diamond and Presto! I'll have my real ring. For image of actual ring click here.

Clint is so thoughtful and always considers even the smallest details! For example, the roses were Anna roses ( Orange with red tips) and he even arranged to have a few rose petals in the ice cream. He wrote a nice little card, which he made out of nice quality art paper and charcoal. He was appealing to my artistic side! When I saw the card I said, "Where did you get this paper, did you take this from my studio!?" ha ha. He even went to the trouble of going to the art store to get Japanese rice paper. What a sweetheart.

We are very thrilled to announce our engagement and look forward to seeing you all at our wedding on June 30th ( well unless you are a random blog stalker, then you aren't invited!) Thanks again for all the well wishes. Its been a really good excuse to call and catch up with dear friends, that has actually been one of my favorite parts.
