The Best of Summer

Ah...the summer is officially coming to an end this week. Its always sad to see it go. The kids have had a great summer, full of hours on the trampoline, playing with friends, eating lots of popsicles and staying up til the sun does down. Summer is the best when you are a little kid. Its like a non stop party.

Ah those summer nights. All the neighborhood kids flock to our next door neighbors house on a nightly basis and soak up those last bits of sun
Thoams and his cousin Grant enjoying some popsicles

I did some art workshops with thomas this summer, we had a great time

Our best friends, the Glenns came to Utah this summer, and after a year apart these boys didn't even miss a beat. They truly are little kindred spirits. It has a very stressful time of the summer because the kids had terrible stomach virus that lasted over 2 weeks. The Glenns were going to stay with us for an entire week, and we had been planning and looking forward to it for nearly a year. But alas, because of the kids being sick, we only got to spend one day with them. But seeing how happy it made Thomas made it all worth it. Next year hopefully we'll get more time with them.

 Summer sun in the park
Thomas and his friends averi and lilly had a last minute lemonade stand. Not quite as successful as last year in Upper Arlington! But look at that red stained face! Could you say no to that?
Sometime you just have to keep cool by jumping in a bucket
Our little pioneer on pioneer day
The kids love the wide open spaces to run in the sun at Grandpa Allred's farm
Staying cool with the assistance of Thomas
And it comes to and end! With Thomas off to school for his 2nd year of preschool. Little cutie has had a great time. He is never nervous about change at all, unlike his mom. He is so social and outgoing. Is fun to see your kids grow and develop attributes you never had! He is the life of the party, this guy! And all the girls in his class flock to him :)

Camping at the Albion Basin

We went on a little overnight campout with the kiddos for one of Clint's vacation days up to the beautiful Albion Basin.
The wildflowers were still stunning, even when they weren't at their peak
This lady had a fun time playing in the tent. Though she did have some rather emotional moments if I recall correctly.
Thomas is always just happy to help his Pop
A tiny bum getting into the tent.
Thomas had fun sitting by the fire
A little girls first smore. Yum!
Thomas preferred to just eat cold marshmallows on sticks. silly guy.
 Isn't it gorgeous there?
Thomas hiked Cecret lake all by himself!
 Those are my friends
If you look closely you can see the moose that we spotted on our hike.

Camping with kids is a lot of fun and very exhausting. One night is about right!
