This little beauty is now over a month old. Isn't she gorgeous? I know all parents think their kids are beautiful, but seriously! She is stunning! She is like a tiny little snow white. I just love her! It has been fun the past month getting to know her. From the beginning of my pregnancy it was very obvious that this baby had a very different personality than Thomas. Much less active and crazy. More calm. That is probably the best way to describe Caroline. Calm. She really isn't too fussy or too difficult. She is just calm. She loves to be held close and cuddled. Her favorite thing is to be carried in the baby Bjorn. I have a sore back by the end of the day, she spends so much time in that thing. I love holding her and feeling her soft head of hair next to me face. I could just hold her all day. Oh yeah I do.
Like her brother Thomas, she has a semi-permanent scowl on her face. Its so cute! Not sure why I have such serious little babies. She has started giving little smiles. It is so sweet. Last night, after Thomas was in bed and it was quiet in the room, just me and her she just kept looking at me and smiling. I think she was saying, "Mom, thanks for protecting me from my big brother. Its so nice to have him in bed for the night!"
She is just gorgeous I tell you!
Much of our daily life consists of me rescuing Caroline from her big brother. Thomas has graduated from his phase of being super sensitive and emotional and now he is just really curious and wants to play with her ALL THE TIME. The problem being, a newborn baby doesn't really like to be head butted, bounced on and screamed at in their face. Thomas on the other hand LOVES that kind of play. So I know its his way of showing Caroline that he loves her, but man I feel for the girl! I do think she likes Thomas, but sometimes when he comes up to her she does get a very frantic look on her face :) Thomas has the big brother/ tease thing mastered. He comes up to her and says "CAROLINE!!!!!" in a little gremlin voice. I don't know where he got that from!
Even though Caroline can't be set down for long without getting bounced on, I think we are all at a happy stage right now. It was a crazy couple of weeks there, but I finally feel like we are functioning at a fairly normal pace. Now I wouldn't say we are totally adjusted of course, but we have our heads above the water and we are doggy paddling along! I even got both the babies in bed tonight on my own by 8:40. That is nothing short of a miracle! I think we are going to survive.

She is so sweet. What a cutie! Everything Thomas is going through (and how he is reacting to it) is normal. That doesn't always make it easy, but it will get better and better. I love all the pictures.
Oh, she is beautiful!!!!! I can't wait to see her again. Those pictures are so cute and the one with Thomas grinning while he is using Miss C as his footstool made me burst out laughing!
Children are so much work and so worth it.
