Clint had vacation time in August so we did a few little small trips around town. I have been wanted to get up to the Spiral Jetty at the Great Salt Lake since we moved here last year, and we finally made it! The lake up here is unlike any place you have ever been, its completely isolated and the water is a pinkish purple hue. It feels like you are the only person on another planet. It is truly magical.
See that tiny boy climbing the rocks on the Spiral Jetty? Usually the jetty is at least partially submerged under water, but the water was so low, it was about a quarter mile out from the jetty.
He made it to the middle!Sand angels! He was really wishing he had brought more of his diggers.
Two tiny children running on the lake! Thomas at one point hit a little sink hole and fell in up to his waist! Luckily he thought it was quite amusing. I'm just glad he didn't fall in deeper!
Doesn't it kind of look like the moon?
Those are my people in that strange landscape
Beautiful!
Thomas was the only one brave enough to get in the water
He liked it!
My lady? She was just happy to stay by her pop.

Oh, I love those pictures. We really have some beautiful stuff here in Utah and your kids make the best of it!
I love the Great Salt Lake. It always makes me think of that road trip we went on years ago as a family. Beautiful pictures. I want to see the Spiral Jetty. I'll have to go this year!
