Two Months

The Evolution of a smile. Thomas has to think for a minute....okay yeah it might be kinda funny...

Love when the arms go-a-flaylin about.

That boy's got milk on his tongue!

Its hard to believe our little Thomas is two months old! Well actually he was two months old over a week ago....but you get the drift. We just love him more and more every day. He is such a sweet little guy. Thomas had his two month appointment and weighed in at 12 lbs 8 oz, (70th percentile) and was 24" long (89th percentile) We love our big baby boy! He did pretty well with getting his shots. Dad came along for moral support...for me mostly :) I had a hard time with it! I teared up when I heard him cry. I couldn't watch them give him the shots, I would have really freaked out! Unfortunately, Clint can't come to the next appointment, so I better just learn to deal with it.

A little bit about our little guy....

He is a very strong guy and can hold his head up pretty good these days. When he gets angry he can kick pretty hard too! He has also started to head butt during his burp sessions. That's fun!

He loves to play on his wiggle worm. Grammy Joey bought it for him and he could just play on that thing all day. He particularly likes this little bee that hangs down. For some reason it is his favorite. He will just bat at that thing and coo and giggle and stare it down....but mr. bee and Thomas have a complicated relationship, because Thomas can be as happy as a little clam and then his little coos turn a little more frantic and before you know it mr. bee and Thomas are in a full fledged argument.

He has started sucking on his little hand. Its so cute! Its funny because when he is cold, or when his fingernails get long and he wont let us trim them we put socks on his hands. The sock on his right hand always seems to get a little soggy. So he often goes with one glove on, and because of this he easily gets confused with Michael Jackson.

He is in general a pretty serious guy. Even when he is playing he has this serious look on his face, like he is trying to figure everything out.

He is a morning person! He will usually wake up around six am regardless of when he is supposed to eat, and he is just all smiles ready to play! Its pretty cute, and even though I am typically not one to wake up with a smile on my face, its hard not to smile back at him. He is just so darn cute.

Thomas's favorite song is "I Will" by the Beatles, as sung by Alison Krauss. He just beams when I play it and sing the words to him. Its really sweet.

Clint and I are just loving being parents. We were just talking about it last night. I don't think I could have ever fully comprehended how much I could love this little guy. And I love being a mother even more then I ever thought I would. He is just so sweet and fun to have around. Of course being a parent is also a lot harder then you could really expect too. I think I had in my mind Thomas taking long naps while I worked on my art projects and everything just going really smoothly. It is a lot harder to manage my time then I could have expected. But we are getting a hang of things, and all the hard aspects pale in comparison to the joy we experience. We can't wait for each day to begin and to see our little guy develop and grow. We are so lucky to have him in our lives. I am so enamored by the little man that when he is sleeping I find myself looking at the pictures I have taken of him during the day. I just can't get enough!

I loved this post. But, still, you can't have too many pictres of Thomas. He just gets more and more handsome.

Thomas is a sweetie. Being a mom is a lot of hard work and it takes a lot of time and energy...but it is so worth it.

Give Thomas a little time and then you can train him not to wake up so early! That's what I did with Peter and I fully intend to do the same with Jonathan. I just can't handle such early mornings! I'm usually getting up at 6 a.m. to exercise and if they got up at that time in the morning, I don't know when my exercising would happen!

By the way, I love the tie. It's retro and funky! Thomas looks handsome in his church clothes.
